Keyless entry

This has been annoying me for a while.
For the longest time, my remote would rarely work on opening the hatch. As time went on, it wouldn't open it at all. I replaced batteries, cleaned the inside of the remote, no luck

Now it wont work on my doors either. On occasion if I stand on one foot, rub my belly and sing show tunes while i press the button, it will work. Normally I wouldn't care, but I have shaved door handles and the openers are run off of my remote.
Where is the receiver located on the car, and has anyone else had and fixed this problem?

For 1996-97, the receiver is built into the BCM (Body Control Module). It is attached to the HVAC ducting, accessible from the passenger side under the dash.

I have a '95 so it may differ a little, the remote has little clips where the batteries are that stick up, they are under a little pressure when pushed down on, try bending them up a little, but dont break em, sometimes they get pushed down and barely make contact with the board... good luck

if that doesnt work then get a aftermarket alarm and hook up your keyless to that.
