Keyed Hub - OE Crank Pulley ISSUE
Keyed Hub - OE Crank Pulley ISSUE
I recently bought a Keyed Hub from Jegs (055551607) for my 383 LT1 . Its suppose to fit 93-95 F-Bodies. My problem : The mounting holes on the Hub do not line up with my OE Crank Pulley. So I cannot mate the 2 together. I pulled the pulley off of my OE LT1 and tried to bolt it to my 383 LT1 and the allignment of the mounting holes are diffrent.
New Hub or New Pulley/Dampner?

Re: Keyed Hub - OE Crank Pulley ISSUE
The stock pulley mounting holes are asymmetrical. Not trying to insult your intelligence, but did you try aligning the pulley with each hole? It can only go on one way...
Re: Keyed Hub - OE Crank Pulley ISSUE
Note: LT1 hub P/N 555-51607/51608/51609 required when using our LT1 balancer P/N 555-51605/51606.
Sounds like you will need to buy the matching balancer to use that hub.

Re: Keyed Hub - OE Crank Pulley ISSUE
I think im going check into exchanging my my keyed hub for the correct part. Since its still new. What is a PART # for a keyed hub that has matching bolt pattern to my OE Pulley?
Re: Keyed Hub - OE Crank Pulley ISSUE
Maybe a dumb question....OE dampners are neutrally balanced...aren't they? I know my SFI flexplate is neutrally balanced. My crank is internally balanced from Golen Engine Services.
