K&N Installation Help

I'm trying to install my K&N intake that i just got. I have the stock intake removed and the air deflector and undertray. However there is still a piece of the duct work of the stock intake in there. It's the piece that is right by the headlight and i can't seem to figure out how to get it out? I think i may be able to hook up the intake anyways becasue it doesnt seem to get in the way but i'd rather get it out so can anyone help me?

Re: K&N Installation Help

O-well i just left it in and the K&N intake fit just fine. It sure is a pain to get that filter onto the intake by yourself. I had to push the intake down so the filter would have enough of the intake to attach to without fallin off so i wedged a screw driver between the intake and part of the engine bay and that held the intake in place.

Re: K&N Installation Help

You mean the little rectangular tube that goes through the radiator support bulkhead, and used to connect to the stock air box? I just left mine there with the Callaway CAI. When I had the front bumper cover off, to remove the crash pad, I was able to pull that piece out from the front. As I vaguely remember, that's the only way you could get it out.
