just a little help please...

OK, first time driving the car or even looking under the hood in about 6 months, so I'm a bit rusty....

1. I've got a dummy light on my dash that's lit up. Wasn't lit when I stored it. Red, with water? and a down arrow. Is this a low coolant indicator? It's not oil. Oil says LOW OIL....

2. Popped the hood, look around and saw a sensor wire/clip/whatever hanging free. Obviously it should clip into something. It's coming from the drivers side wheelwell area, just under the ABS junk. It's got a purple housing, is oval shaped and has the female side of a 3-pin connection. It's possible that this was just left over and unnecessary since I removed my stock intake and went with the ram air lid. My MAF is plugged in, my coil is plugged in, my head coolant temp sensor is plugged in, etc. I can't see anywhere to plug this thing in You guys with stock air intakes... is this something that you still have hooked up? WHAT IS THIS CLIP!?!?!

Thanks.

Feels good to be driving the car again, even with problems.

Sounds like the low coolant light. You can check almost directly behind the radiator cap about 6 inches down is the coolant level sensor, it may have come unplugged or maybe you just need some coolant.

As for the other connector thats loose, maybe the oil level sensor connector?

Well the plug sounds like it goes in to the air pump if it directly below the abs module. The light is low coolant. Its a square light with a down arrow and waves.

The Oil level sensor plugs in to the sdriver side of the oil pan right above the drain plug. HTH

God, I feel like such a tool. I'm assuming my airpump is gone when I yanked all of the EGR stuff for my longtubes? So I don't need to worry about this clip then?

I looked at a buddy's 97 and wasn't able to find the same wire or clip....

Loose Connector - Its the airpump connector which you dumped when you installed longtubes .

If you ever needed that wire, then yes.

I would just run it behind the ABS module to where it is hidden. You never know if you will use it again.
