Just got a Vig. got a few questions..Vig. Users inside...

I just got a 9"3500 2.53 STR Vig. got my Formula. Was going to go with a Yank but a friend of mine had a bad experience with customer service so I choose another route.I have had good luck out of the SLP but wanted to go with a higher stall for my heads and hotcam setup. The questions I had is does anyone have a convertor with these specs? How do you launch? does it hit hard? Do you flash it? What is your setup and what kinda 60's and ET's do you pull? I ran 1.8's with the SLP hope to go high 1.6's with this one. Also I got a high stall fix so not worried about that. Just wondering about how your convertor is performing for you and about that 2.53 STR. Should be fun.
Also bought it off a board member 1QWKZ28
it has just been refreshed and he was very informative and helpful in my buying process. Good guy to deal with.

thanks Brad

I am running a Vig 3600 stall now & cut low low 1.6 60' time with my set up in the sig. Not sure on the STR of my vert though. I stall it up at the track. I am still trying to figure out what optimal rpm to stall it up to but I know it is 2000 or more rpm. My problem with stalling it up is I am pushing through my weak LT1 brakes. I run 26 x 11.5 x 16 ET Streets & it just gets up & goes!!! I run better when I stall it up rather then flashing it.

What are the advantages or disadvantages to the different STR's?

The higher the STR the more punch you will have off the line. (If you great traction) The dis-advantage is the effeciency of the converter, the converter will be less effecient on the big end versus a converter with a lower STR rating. That usually means a loss of HP.

I have a 2.5 on mine and to me it pulls pretty darn good, but there are times I wished I went with something smaller like in the 2.0 to 2.2 range.

I usually stall mine up to 2300.

yea I will probably be running the 26" ET's either those or the Hoosiers. I want to pull some really good 60's just think I am gonna have a blast launching this thing. Ken i have a video of your first 11 second pass 11.96 I believe..nice..I hope to be there with you soon..I am fighting a high rpm miss..gonna add a blaster coil and new wires..I will run high 11's I believe with traction and it tuned just right..hope so anyway..anyone else with a Vig.?
