Just got a T/A
Re: Just got a T/A
I've got a TSP rumbler with gutted cat's on my 96 T/A. I LOVE the sound. It has a real unique sound, and I get compliment's on it everywhere. I got it from www.texas-speed.com. Check out www.ls1sounds.com for some sound clips of exhaust systems on lt1's/ls1's.

check them out..
And also, The Z28 I had (For a week), had a shift kit, and I deffinetly could feel a difference and it felt like the car picked up a bit quicker...
Is the Tq Converter much different from a Shift Kit? I didnt' really read the site seeing that there's so many pictures, if you could recommend one that'd be greatly appreciated..

Re: Just got a T/A
How do the SLP Loudmouth exhaust systems compare to the Hooker Catback ones? I heard a few of the SLP LM Ones and they sounded quite beefy and loud aswell. I mean the ones with headers sounded ridiculously loud, but right now if I was to just get an exhaust system, what would sound best? Maybe later add the headers...
Thanks a lot for the help guys.

Check out that ls1 sounds page and listen to some clips before you spend your money. I honestly don't find the hooker to be very mean and agressive sounding, but everyone is different.

Re: Just got a T/A
In all honesty, I think any popular catback will sound good. Key is to remove the cat.
My local shop welded in a pipe instead of the cat converter for me for $50.
I installed the catback myself and thought it was easy. But I'm used to working on a car, however you gotta start somewhere and a catback is a good place to start your installs, lol.
Good luck.
P.S. with the cat in place, exhaust will sound good but not as loud/throaty/mean as w/o the cat, just keep that in mind.

93T/A,
First off WELCOME! (that's one sharp Trans Am!)
Onto business - you mentioned that you can hear a pronounced buzzing inside from the rear of the car (which as was noted should be the fuel pump), your question got me thinking; Does your T/A have the "flap" or cover over the cargo area? if not this would explain why the fuel pump is so easy to hear?

Any suggestions coming form another T/A owner on type of exhaust for someone with a somewhat low budget? Thanks
