It never hurts to verify at another dyno. Definitely go and post the new results.
I don't blame him. If it peaks at that point there's no need to take it up any higher. I think you would've been even more pissed if it would've been taken up after it had peaked only to possibly drop a valve or break a valve spring or any other misfortunate thing to happen.
I haven't read the whole thread, but I would just go somewhere else. Make sure they pull it all the way and that you get a good AF reading. I understand the breakage thing, but unless you get data from that RPM range you won't know if it's ignition, valve float, or what. If you can, log the car on the run as well to see any knock, duty cycle, etc.
A lot of people today aren't true gear heads and wouldn't know they were loosing power without a dyno to tell them.Not saying anyone here including the OP isn't one, just saying in general.
They say they made the first pull above 5100rpm, then didnt go above that on the next runs because the first run made peak power at 5100rpm.
All the runs look identical to me.
That doesnt follow their story.
