oil setup?
tuning?
gaskets ($300 right there)
lifters?
valve train?
cam?
bearings?
fluids?
plugs/wires/coil/ignition?
fuel?

you spend $500 on the 3 main parts. or someone else bought them for you

I know it just eats your ***.

that this was done for under 600.00 lets just even say under 1000.00 and your spent a s**tload of money on yours and basically have the same thing, try shopping around next time, and meeting people with machine shops etc...

my stroker can beat up your stroker
thats why it cost so much

machine work was only $500 of it... of coarse, i'm in touch with reality and i factor in the cost of parts for my 383.. not just crank and rods and pistons when I feel like it.

we are far from the same thing
can i ask who just gave you free parts?
someone paid for them...

edit:
according to your prices-

your crank, rods and pistons ALONE were $560.
Someone paid you $60 to take their hotcam kit?

well a high dollar crank will not...

make it any faster, or high dollar rods, or high dollar pistons and that is what you have done, basically wasted your money.

PLEASE say that when you can turn some rpms.

Gonna suck when you stretch a connecting rod or shoot it through the oil pan.

There is a reason why my pistons were $520...

ok
thats less than what you paid for 3 parts
air/spark/fuel management, lifters, rockers (which you still have stock), headers (stock manis), bearings, cam, valves, oil, fuel system are all part of the "engine"

anyway... pull timing back to stock. if its still knocking u probobly installed something wrong (pistons in backward) or stretched a rod.

There is a reason why I got forged pistons I can use nitrous

Just for the record- If I ever hear you throw a rod- i'm going to reply with nothing more than "man did i get it"

How do you "thread" a rod...

They are scat I beam rods with scat capscrews, good to go. Oh and you think all the high dollar stuff doesnt break, seen 1500.00 dollar cranks cracked in 1/2.

I dont think you get my point through all of this...

You pay for what you get. What on God's green earth would EVER give you the idea that your $184 pistons are anywhere NEAR the quality of a set of $500 forged pistons?

or your $135 crank is anywhere NEAR the quality of an $800 callies crank?

You think this WHOLE FORUM was born yesterday?

My point is - you pay for what you get. The only thing cheap in the automotive world is air....

and i fixed the typo
