That removing the AIR pump will not have negative affects. Car is in the sig (94 LT1). Emissions are NOT an issue, I don't want the car to get messed up over this.
Will there be a SES light? I searched and it sounded like no if I unplug the connector or something.
Just double checking
thanks

Since your car is OBD-I, you can disconnect the AIR pump, and not get a code/SES light, as long as there is a healthy fuse and relay in the circuit. Removing the AIR pump will not affect the way the engine runs, and will not hurt anything. It just runs for a couple minutes on start up to help heat the cats up faster. On the other hand, removing it will not increase performance in any way, other than the minimal affects of a 7# weight reduction.
I made one thread to sum up everything. Simply no i cannot swap pcm's because the origninal pcm is bad

The AIR pump does not have anything at all to do with the "EGR tubing". It runs air from the AIR pump, through check valves, into the connections on the exhaust manifolds on both sides. That is not EGR. That is air added to the exhaust for the first couple minutes at startup, to help the cat heat up faster.
Did you cap the hole in the intake duct with a 5/8" vacuum cap?
Did you remove any of the tubing or the check valves running to the exhaust manifolds? If so, did you plug the connections to the exhaust manifolds?
The 94's do not have any "small tube" running into the frame that I am aware of. Where did the tube start? Where did it end? Was the tube possibly a small drain from the pump body (its been about 2 years since I removed mine)?

Yes

No, a rubber hose goes from the air pump to a metal hose, splits in a "T", one going to each manifold. I just plugged it off before the T, right where the rubber hose would have connected from the air pump to metal lines

The tube was connected to the Air pump, it ran directly from the air pump to a little module (which is on a bracket bolted to the frame). The tube goes into this module, and then a electrical connector plugs into this module. I left the electrical connector plugged in. No soloution. Unplugged the connector, not the solution either
