Just bought new cam, with 1.6 RR's???

Hey guys, I just ordered my GM 847 Cam from GMPartsDirect. I need to take the next couple of weeks to get the other essentials for the swap.

I am going to get a stock LT1 timing set to replace the current one. I haven't decided on which springs, lifters, or pushrods to get yet, but I wanna go ahead and order some 1.6RR's.

Any suggestions on the other parts are welcome to though. I'm looking for suggestions, part numbers, and rough estimates on the prices...

Thanks guys...

Garrett

Hey,
I would get a stronger than stock timing chain. I bought the LT4 ED timing chain. The timing chain that you buy will depend on whether or not you're going to use an electric waterpump or not.
Actually, I'd recommend that you just call one of the supporting vendors and let them give you a detailed list of supporting hardware for that cam along with some prices.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

-Tim

Thanks for the input. My mind is made up on the timing stuff though. I have heard of folks running 9's, and numerous running 10's and 11's with stock replacment timing sets. I also don't want to go through the hassle of doing the opti-swap for the ED kit, since my non-vented won't work with it...

I have already purchased some Comp Cams Magnum Rockers tonight. As soon as I get some more cash, I'll be buying up the rest of the parts...

Hey go with hardned push rods/ one piece, I think they are like 114.00 from www.ls1speed.com If you bought the NSA rockers you'll need guide plates 22.00 from same web site, you can call and talk a tech guy.

I got the self aligning 1.6's from comps so I shouldn't have to worry bout the plates I don't think...

Good luck on getting your combo together. You should be very happy with that cam. I wish I had gotten it from the get-go.

Don't forget to go with some beefier springs, might be a good idea to replace the fuel pump since your gonna be running bigger injectors.

the plan is to get some Kmotion k-800 springs, comp lifters, someones hardened pushrods, and a stock timing set... I'll probably end up getting bigger injectors, but only if Bryan at PCM for less thinks I should for his tune...
