There is no way the Flowmaster is 5rwhp hit from the stock catback. Believe what you want but that is ridiculous. Either I had the most efficient K&N cold air kit or my car was real strong. I managed 270rwhp from just the K&N and flowmaster on a Dynojet a number of years ago. I don't doubt that other mufflers flow better than the Flowmaster, but stock was not more efficient.

As for the best sounding exhaust, I think GMMG is worth the cost. True Duals do sound pretty cool depending on the muffler, but the ground clearance and cost to have a good system built is just not worth it.

It's been demonstrated several times in the past that Flowmaster flows worse than stock. It's entirely possible that your car was stronger than most from the factory.

I just was wondering what ORY meant? Is it a brand of y pipe or a name. Where do I find oneand how much? Thanks.

It means Off-Road Y-pipe. Off-Road means it doesn't have any catalytic converters. There are several different brands. Buy the one that is the same brand as your headers (otherwise it won't fit).

If you don't have headers, don't bother with a Y-pipe yet. Do them at the same time.

Not having catalytic converters is illegal in most (maybe all?) states (older cars that didn't come with them from the factory are excluded). If you have to take an emissions test, you may not pass without catalytic converters, depending on the rules in your state.

true duals all the way. IDC what people say, yes, it'll only be about 5hp more...peak, but it also will give a little more power under the curve too.
not to mention, its just as cheap

if you do 3"
xpipe - 100
mufflers - 100
hangers - 30
so....$230 and you have a great sounding exhaust

or
ypipe - 130
catback - 300
total: 430

hrm....i know where my money would go again if i did it

I vote TD too, but I'm not a fan of turn-downs at the axle. Spend the additional money to get it installed correctly, over the axle - you can even keep the muffler in the stock location.
