Jet-Hot Owners (plugs issue)

Well my car seems to have a distinctive miss at idle it seems like. So I decided to pull the plugs and wires, to check them out since they only have around 5-6k on them. Wel was able to remove all the plugs except for #5 cylinder. I could fit my spark plug socket over it, but I knew if I were to start backing it out, that it would eventually hit the primary, leaving it stuck. So the how the heck do I get that one out? Is there a special tool I need?

I admit Jet-Hots make plugs 100x easier then manifolds. But Im stumped. Well as for the wires it looks like #5's wire was touching the primary and burned the red plastic/rubber coating off my "409" taylor wire. But it didnt go all the way through. The braided shielding was untouched. So I repaired the wire for now. And put the rest of the plugs and wires back on.

Car still has that quiet miss at Idle. The #1, #3, and #7, plugs and wires were fine though. So Im going to have to get that plug off to get a look at it, to see if this is the culprit.

As for the miss. Its a very quiet pop you can only hear if you get under the car and listen over time. Seems like after the car comes out of open loop it does it.

So any ideas or suggestions to getting to #5's plug?

Break it loose with the socket, take it out by hand. OR use a gear wrench over the socket. It'll come out.

ill try breaking it loose and wiggling it out. What Im did for the other was use the socket, and then use a regular wrench to turn it.

But with the primary's angle cuts in right there which limits me. But, Ill give it a shot tomorrow. Engine is to warm for me to do it today. Or else my hand will end up like that wire. FRIED! lol

Did you use anti-sieze when you installed them last? If so, just break it loose with the socket or an open ended wrench, and soon after, you can take it out by hand. Thats the way I did it anyways.

Have you been under the car (on ramps or jacks) with it running to see if you can see any arching? That's what's caused most of my misses. Including a cracked spark plug.

after I repaired the wire it still did the light miss. Maybe its just the plug. Maybe its not putting out enough spark. Well Ill hit at it tomorrow. Rest of the plugs seemed fine. When I pull the plugs, it didnt look like anti sieze was used. Just oil or some other type of lubricant.

go on ebay and buy a header spark plug socket ($10) or summit for the slp one ($22). Its half the size and u use a wrench to do it. Its what i use when u get in there tight. Its a good tool to have. I have used mine several times.

ebay socket
