Jet-Hot or not to Jet-Hot...?

Well I just bought a set of non-coated pacesetter LT's of a board member and I am wondering if anyone would give me their view on whether to Jet-Hot them or not. I live in PA and dont drive my Trans Am in the winter with salt on the roads but do drive in the rain. Should I get them coated? I like the sterling finish but my car is not a full time show car. I drive it a lot during the summer. I know it is supose to reduce the underhood heat temps and give you a bit more performance but I dont want to get them coated if they are going to end up like some other board member's that I have seen on here all rusty after only a year. So any input from anyone would be great. Not trying to put down Jet-Hot just I dont know a lot about it. Thanks!

Chris

Coating mainly helps your wires from burning. I would recommend getting them coated especially since you don't drive it in winter. Of course, if you're confident in having adequate protection for your wires, you can go ahead and get the non coated ones. You may also want to consider pacesetters. They seem to fit better.

I just got mine (tpis) coated but it seems like hit or miss w/ jet hot. Based on what I've read about other peoples experiance w/ them. I hope mine last for $250 they better.

edit: I also noticed in some places for some reason the coating didn't seem to stick. It has a duller finish, I'm not sure why this is...maybe it's my headers???

Well I have Accel Extreme 9000 wires so I dont think I have to worry too much about the wires melting. If anyone has had them melt before tell me and I will def get the headers coated! I have only had them on for less then a year and less them 3000 miles!!
