Jet Hot LTs Not What They Are Cracked Up 2 Be PICS INSIDE!

I bought and installed these less then 2 yrs ago
They have been rusting for awhile, just never got around to taking pics
I always though Jet Hot never rusted or anything
What you guys think
I contacted Jet Hot before and they told me they'd replace the headers at my install and shipping expense. I don't have the extra cash to get new headers installed
I think Jet Hot not what they cracked up to be

I think they are worth it if you take care of them. Every header will rust. Salt etc. will cause them to rust more.

Wow ,that's pretty bad.

I have mild rust on my Hookers coated by Jet-hott. Ive had them for about 6 years now, but they are nowhere near as bad as yours are.

Yeah sorry man, I completely missed that in the post. My GF lives in Maryland, what part you at? If you can afford to take maybe a week off of work/school, you can lift the car up and get a few buddies and install them yourself.

Mine looked the same way after 2 years of daily driving. I have since converted the car to a full time race only. I pulled the headers off this past winter and dropped them off at their office. JetHot main office is only 30 min from me. They recoated them no questions asked and all I had to pay was $25 for shipping.

yeah, salt will kill anything metal, plus any sand or dirt on the roads will be an effective sandblaster with high winds and driving fast.

I think its not just jet hot but ceremic in general. Mine started to rust in about 2 months, and then got worse and worse. I finally took them off after two years. (it was hooker ceremic coating). I now have nickle coated pacesetters which are holding up well so far.

If you don't want to pull them out and have jet hot recoat them, sand them andyou can brush a few coats of this paint on.
Seems to be holding up ok for me but I know my longtubes will need touching up every now and then.
I might make some shields to keep the road grit off which should help.

Sucks having to pay a premium for coated headers only to have it flake off in a couple of years anyway.

That paint will keep them looking good on the outside a little longer, but I bet they're rusting away on the inside. My aluminized cat-back was like that. There was a little rust here and there on the outside after a few years, but when I pulled it off... Holy crap was there a TON of rust in there! You could tip a pipe down and pour a small pile.
