Jet Hot / Hooker Long Tubes owners.
I have the LT4 conversion kit on its way to my house as we speak. I figured that it would also be a good time to swap in a set of long tubes. I'm debating on which ones to go with. Which one did you choose and why? Also, does anyone have any experience with Stainless Works' Y-pipe that is sold in Summit? I'm just curious on fitting issues, hopefully everything will go smooth.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I bought the Hookers.Jet hots werent out yet.You probably know the jet hots are a copy of Hookers.I would get the originals.
Also I used the Mufflex Y without any problems.Get them coated no matter which you choose.

I bought the Jet-Hot brand of LTs (Hooker copy). They are pretty much identical to the Hooker's but with a thicker flange to help with exhaust leaks, the o2 bungs are in a much better location, and unlike the Hooker model you can also order them with emissions hookups. Other than that they're cheaper in price, especially if you can get a group purchase going.
I went with the Jet hots. Since they are prtty much the same as hookers, but cheaper why not
. I used the mufflex y pipe. The pipe does have a few issues with it hitting the udnerside of my car under acceleration. But I need to clearance the edge of the tranny mount and probably a little adjustment and I will be cool.
I heard the pipe from summit is only 2.75" or 3" or something. Mufflexx is 4" !!!! I like it a lot!

I have the Jet Hots as well. I got em cuz they are cheaper. But I went with the Hooker Y-Pipe that I am still waiting to get. Hooker hasnt released it yet to any dealers. Summit has it back ordered til god knows when and LS1Speed.com is getting them as well. Summits cost $130 and LS1Speed is $170. I ordered em from LS1 Speed and had em price match it.
I dont think they were happy, they said it was below dealer price. Oh well. So through LS1Speed you get it right when it gets released as compared to end of August from Summit, and for the same price!
I'll let you know how it works out as far as fitting when I get it.

I wouldn't count on the promptness of LS1speed. I waited months for my catback and Y-pipe on two separate occasions. They aren't real prompt on shipping but their prices can't be beat.
What Y pipe is this? The stainless works? Or another?

Jethot LT's here too, they are also 16gauge vs Hooker's thinner 18 on the primaries as well as the flange being thicker on the JH's. I have a custom 3" ypipe, Mufflex didn't tuck in the way I wanted. They are awesome headers you'll love em.
I just got off the phone with Jet Hot and they said their Y-pipe "should" be done by late September. I'll wait till that comes out and try to get the LT's and Y-pipe at the same time. I just ordered the LT4 conversion kit from Summit and it should be here by the end of the week. I'm going to get the heads and intake ported and polished, so I'll just wait till Jet Hot gets done with the Y-pipe and I'll install everything all at once. Sounds like a good plan, I just hope everything works out that way.
