So you are going from stock block to after market everything? That is quite the build change!
Sorry, what I meant was a fullout build using a stock (production) block casting.

The link in the first post takes you to Dart's site. You can read about it there.

They have some good info on the SBC SHP which the LT1 SHP will be based upon.

I think it's a great move by Dart.

The thought of the cost to get a production block ready for serious HP/boost is painful. For similar cost you'll get a lighter, stronger, better oiled, and bigger bore block. No brainer for the consumer.

For the ones that didnt click..

Yes, you read it correctly, our SHP engine block line has been wildly popular, and since we implimented the Ford SHP block people have been clamoring for more...

We listened.

We are officially developing an LT1 style SHP engine block. Bringing affordable, versatile performance to LT1 motors everywhere.

Pricing for the new block will be similar to the pricing offered on our Chevy and Ford series SHP blocks.

We'll be releasing more details on pricing and specifications as development progresses, so check back often!

Great, I guess I better call my engine builder and tell him to sell my fresh splayed cap block and Mahle 4.030 forged pistons and get a 4.125 bore SHP block and build a 400" LT1 with the 3.75 4340 crank and 6" eagle H beams.

2 factors will influence my decision:

1. Price
2. Max stroke clearance

PS: this should be a sticky!

As with all things price is the the deciding factor and I hope Dart keeps that in mind..
