Introduction and couple questions

Hey I'd like to start by introducing myself. My name is Jeremy and my 94 z28 was my first car when I turned 17. Ive had her now for 8 years and am now able to start giving her some much needed tlc. Im am going to start by pulling the engine because every seal is leaking from a lot of time sitting. Before I do I was planning on doing a leakdown/compression test to find out her unseen health. One question is, what numbers should I be looking for to say everything is sealed tight? Assuming its in good condition I was going to be putting on some bolt on mods (58mm TB, Longtubes, CAI,) as long as fixing the leaking seals. Also wanted to upgrade the intake mani so was wondering which one is my best bet? (lt4, ported stock?) Also will be bolting on one of the LE packages as soon as I decide on one. A couple things that I already have done to the car is a street/strip 4l60e rebuild, 3200 stall, and cutout. Nothing major and she's basically stock so looking forward to giving her some love. If you cant tell the car is very sentimental so if you have any suggestions on other things I should do, it would be appreciated. Thanks

Do some research, but the 58mm TB and intake will yield very little gain if any.... Do the exhaust in full as you will use it in any app... LE package is where you want to spend your money, all the power comes from the head! Comp should be 110+ in all 8...

Welcome to the board..

Hi: To begin with 2 things. Take advantage of the "search" function for many questions and check out Shbox.com where you will find a wealth of information, compliments of one of our most valuable people on the site.

I'd not concern myself too much with the intake. The stock intake flows quite well. Wouldn't waste money on a larger TB until you get into heads and cam.

Would advise that you mod the valve train including 1.6 RRs, springs, etc.
Gaining good control over the valves in addition to adding lift and some duration will improve you power substantially. JMHO

Welcome....

After the exaust and cold air intake and 1.6 RR with springs, a GOOD mail order tune will help alot..

Some 3.73 gears would really help out.

I dont think my car is supposed to do one wheel burnouts so Im just going to finish off the 10 bolt then go to a 12 or 9in. Does Strange still make good rears? or any other recommendations?

Thanks for the help guys! It seems that I should be directing my focus on the valvetrain first along with CAI and headers so thats what Ill do.

Can you point me in the direction of either sound clips or videos of cars with LE packages to give me an idea of what she'll sound like. Thanks

Also Ive searched and found a couple but can you also help me find some pics of some REALLY clean engine bays? Are there any tricks of "SIMPLIFYING" the engine bay? Ive seen someone reroute the gas lines back by the firewall instead of the stock forward then backward design. Ive been away from the scene for a while so if there is a thread with pictures like this please lemme know.
