Intake Question

Alright, so a little bit of background first. I recently bought a 1997 Z28 on the cheap, and I'm in the process of fixing it up. When I got it, it had no muffler, a broken trans mount (and later discovered a broken engine mount), no stereo head unit, numerous missing dashboard items, and a window that had been pulled out of its track. It also had a large exhaust leak and a lean code. But, for $2k I couldn't turn it down.

Anyways, on to my questions...

1: Why does the K & N intake kit say it won't work on a vehicle with traction control? I don't see anything under the hood that would get in the way (that I recognize is traction control related anyway). Has anyone tried this?

2: My intake boot is torn badly (cause of the lean code, I thought at first it was the exhaust leaks), I've duct taped it as a temporary solution. I've been looking at some aftermarket ones, but none of them have a hole for what I think is an A.I.R. tube. I attached a picture of it. Does anyone know what this is exactly, and if it can be moved somewhere else?

Here is the one I am looking at, it has a hole for the IAT but not the second tube:

Re: Intake Question

for the k&n intake i believe it dont fit on traction control car because where the filter sits. you cant see from in the engine bay, you gotta get under the car. there is a box for i believe cruise that gets moved to a spot where it would interfere.

as for your intake elbow. that hose is for the vented optispark. none of the aftermarket ones come with the hole, however they come with instructions where to drill a hole and what side hole to drill. also comes with the grommet to stuff in hole then just push your hose into it.
