Intake options for speed density setup

Hey guys,

I've decided to run speed density for now, as I seem to able to tune the car much better this way.

Since I won't need the MAFS in the airflow, I can rearrange the air intake.

So I am looking for ideas as to how to do a new setup on my '95 Z28, non-SS.

Should I keep the stock elbow, or do something completely custom, like 4" from the TB to the filter?

Share your thoughts! Thanks!

Dont go straight to the TB becasue there will be too much heat.

Also, can you sjut remove the MAF so plainly with out doing anything to the PCM???

So you finally see the light? Any case, I run a 1LE elbow, to a MTI COld Air, heres the thing, since I have no MAF there is a big gap between the CAI and elbow, so I had to cut a peace of pipe to go in place of the MAF. On your car i'd just run a elbow, in to the cold air.

Get the SLP Ultra-Z hood, cut open the lid of the airbox, and use the Fernco connector from the airbox to the throttle body, with a solid plastic filler piece where the MAF sensor should be......

MAF delete.....

I've actually been thinking about a custom cai setup the last few days. I'm gonna relocate the battery to the rear, so that'll give me room to run a cai on the passenger side too. Has anyone ever put a Y or T right off the TB and had a dual cai setup (keep one going in the stock location, and put another one on the passenger side too)? Probably no benefit over my current moroso cai, but hey, it wouldn't cost much and it'd be fun to make

Hey Zehper, what kind of piping did you use to make your CAI? I need a new elbow, but that looks much cheaper... Would that work on my 93 with SD?

Are you talking about the large white air tube I have?
It came from a Semi truck. Not sure what year and truck, but it fits perfect in my engine bay. It will work on your 93 if you move your battery to the other side of the car since the pipe is routed to the pass side battery tray. I can see if it will route into a 4th gen, I've got a 96 T/A outside I can use to test fit it.

Oh, and I am planning on running my 95 LT1 in SD mode so I don't have to fiddle with a MAF.
