intake keeper fell in oil drain hole in lifter valley

hello everybody.....
well as the title says i dropped an intake keeper one of the plastic pins that hold the intake gasket on the head into what i believe is an oil drain hole a small circle hole in the intake valley, the one in the back right corner of the driverside head and i'm scurd ... those holes go straight down to the oil pan don't they? i dumped the oil hoping it would come out but i didn't see it..... put more oil j/straight down in the hole and more oil came out of the oil dran hole but no pin...
is there anything that would be stopping the pin from going into the oil pan? i need advice... anyways of getting it out w/ out dropping the pan? because i dont have a cherry picker or anything to raise the motor...
what's the worst case scenario if i run it.. and that plastic pin didn't come out?

by the way my 94 lt1 is an 87 blazer
thank you

I wouldn't be overly concerned if you were unable to "flush" it out...the oil pump pick-up has a screen on it. It may still be located in the lifter valley and eventually work itself into the oil pan. If this is not letting you sleep at night, then you will need to remove either the intake and/or the oil pan to find the pin.

I would get it out for sure. I would not let that go..You definetly do not want anything loose in your engine. I would just take the pan off and get it over with. Put a new gasket on while you are there.

It's not hard enough to damage anything. The only thing would be if it caused a clog somewhere, but I think the chances of that are remote.

I don't see where it would hurt anything

It's nothing to worry about.
