intake gains with current setup
intake gains with current setup
with my current setup will i benefit at all with a cold air setup? i am thinking of dropping some cash on one of these ebay htings but if its only gonna yield me 2RWHP i can do without.
Re: intake gains with current setup
You have cam, most boltons and a stock airbox? You will probably gain 15rwhp. I gained 6rwhp when I took my Moroso CAI off the car completely (332-338rwhp). Any air filter is going to be a restriction. The stock airbox is a big restriction.

Re: intake gains with current setup
I would say definately. A cold air intake is a basic starter mod. I could feel the difference after I put mine on. Maybe someone will have some 1/4 mile gains for you.
Edit---Is your cam the cc305? How do you like it?

Re: intake gains with current setup
no, its the comp XE224/230, i dont know how i like it really, i can really feel the pull but my tune is still stock so i havnt changed the shift points to any higher then stock and the limiter is still there. so wehn i get enough money to get the tune then i hopefully will see some nice results. what about taking my TB down to the local machine shop and getting it ported. how would that do?
Re: intake gains with current setup
I run a 52mm and i've been told it's hurting my setup. But with you running that cam and if you plan on heads it'll help for sure. Mines just overkill for now. But I did notice a crisper throttle response. Oh and I ment the 503 cam (224/230, 503/510, 112 lsa), does it have a nice lope to it? I already bought one but i just want another opinion.
Re: intake gains with current setup
o yea, killer lope, especially with the Lts and staright back exhaust. not too much but not too little, still scares the old lady across the street. i just might be taking my TB out to the machine shope then to get it ported, and then get teh whole intake setup, looking online for gears right now. i might goto 4.10s if someone will let me know there hgihway RPMs.
