Which intake elbow is best?

And why?

1LE vs Vortec vs Trick Flow

I want the best, so the price difference is irrelevant. Keep in mind, I am running this with an SLP airfoil and CAI....so which one will work the best? I do NOT want a chrome one either...I want a satin finish if I go with a metal one over 1LE.

Any help/comments are appreciated.

The stock one is the best because it's already paid for and installed.

So is there really no flow advantage to any of these then?

you will flow a LITTLE more over the stock one, but between the 3 there is not much difference. Just looks.

Its all a matter of choice, how much you want to spend and what you want it to look like.

I"ve had all three you are undecided about. My vote would be the Trick Flow one by far! First of all The Vortech will not work with the SLP CAI unless you hack some of it off and it has that stupid divider in it. You also have to thread the IAT sensor for it. The 1LE...good idea to get rid of the donkey dong, but..its RUBBER...you will be in the same boat with another ripped elbow down the road. The Trick Flow is great. It's ceramic coated..has no divider...no threads to tap... and looks cool too.

As stated above there is no need to replace the stock elbow unless your stock elbow is ripped. But out of the 3 you mentioned I would have to say Trick Flow has the nicest elbow.

While the 1LE is rubber, it is a little more robust than the stock one, less prone to tearing and easier to get on.

I would say 1LE. My friend bought a polished Vortech one and the IAT sensor hole is threaded, which means you have to cut threads on your sensor, which chances are, you end up cracking it trying (my friend cracked two before he gave up). So unless you want to relocate your sensor to the airbox (or you may already have) and cork the hole in the elbow, go with 1LE...

I think neither are better than each other from what I can see in Jegs or Summit.

I had the 1LE purchased when my stock one went. I swear my milage improved slightly from it, consistantly 10-15 km more per tank, not all that much but more than nothing...

The difference in power between all three is so small as to be impossible to really measure.

I would pick the 1lE though.
1.) It's the cheapest
2.) Less thermally conductive

If you like bling-bling than I'd go with the Trick Flow. It's about the same price as the Vortech piece but lacks the center divider, is ceramic coated, and I think the IAT is plug and play.

I haven't heard of anyone tearing up the 1lE elbow???
