Re: intake elbow

The stock elbow comes with a cone on it to keep the nosie level down. So a lot of people are switching them out for look and some gain due to air flow design such as 1LE elbow (oem style), or nice fancy looking one such as trick flow, vortech.

Re: intake elbow

The biggest reason you get one is your stock one rips and you need a replacement, also it gets that donky-dong out of your way underneath the car so you can get at stuff easier later on.

Re: intake elbow

There is not much, if any, gain from changing the elbow. People mostly change it because theirs is torn.

Re: intake elbow

Howdy,
I changed mine because it tore. I used the 1LE elbow from Sam Taylor Buick in Florida. If I had know it was gonna make it sound better, I would've done it sooner. People swear I have an aftermarket exhaust, but it's the original.

Re: intake elbow

I used the alternative, very inexpensive, method and removed the donkey-dong and inserted the cap from Pert Plus shampoo. Sounds hokey but it actually works. Next time I have the elbow off I will take some pictures. There are a couple cz28 users that made their plug and did an excellent job. Now if they would make more of them and sell them for $5 to ther cz28 users

Re: intake elbow

I got my Trick flow elbow from summitracing.com. I got it mostly for looks (and it looks way, way better), but it also gets rid of the donkey dick and is a straight through design (although I doubt it would add more than 1 hp tops ) Bottom line, if you have the money and care about looks then I suggest the trick flow....if not then get the 1le elbow which is a lil cheaper, or just modify your stock one to get rid of the donkey dick.

Re: intake elbow

I have the Trickflow Ceramic elbow and one other benefit of the cast aluminum is if I decide to spray using foger style nozzles it's sturdier than the 1le elbow.
