Intake Bolt Question
Intake Bolt Question
Did a search, before anyone asks.
I'm getting ready to pull my intake manifold, and wanted to spruce it up a little more considering how ugly the stock bolts are and how purdy the powdercoated manifold is. So, of course, I'm thinking APR Stainless bolts.
Knowing the the stock bolts are 3/8"-16 X 1.38" (thanks to a search), I'm left wondering two things:
How deep are the holes for the bolts, and whether or not a 1.25" ARP bolt would work, or if the holes are deep enough if I should use a 1.5" ARP bolt.
And about the studs, does anyone know if ARP makes stude like those, or should I just delete the studs??
Lastly, do I need to use a washer between the bolts and the intake manifold?

Re: Intake Bolt Question
Most, if not all, the bolt holes go into the valve cover area, so length would not be an issue. Maybe someone that has some heads off can look at that for you. I would use washers if the bolts have a plain style head.
