Im turning 16 on October and I was wondering what the insurance would be if i got a used 93-98 camaro z28 or ss. I live in upstate new york and i'll be getting my permit in october and license in april.

 

the best thing to do if possible is to get on your parents ins, but if you cant and im sure some new york guys will chime in here it will be at least 2k a year if not more, young age and a powerful car doesnt sit well with ins companys, since your new here you should put this thread on the northeastern- fbody section, you will get more replies from guys in your area

 

well in nyc they tried to kill me with ins. I was 22 but didnt have my license for 3years quite yet, and got a quote from allstate of $10K/year full or $3000/year liability. I laughed. I put it in my dads name and now I pay about $1600/year full coverage.

 

Damn that sucks. Well guess i wont be getting one soon.

 

I'm 24 now but when I bought the camaro I was 21. My insurance then was around $1600-$1900 every six months. I'm in Michigan with no fault insurance so that might have something to do with it. My driving record isn't perfect either.....trust me.

 

pianoman35 you said upstate newyork right. If thats the case, your insurance will be less than someone living in NYC. Just have your parents call their insurance and ask.

 

the insurance in upstate NY is cheaper than NYC usually. have the car put on your parents ins. shouldnt be a whole lot

 

its still gonna be high, im in the albany area, cheap for me, i pay 152 a month full coverage on my z but i have a beater on my insurance too..

 

I live near the adirondacks, i dont think my parents wanna pay more for car insurance. Should i go for geico? lol. Anyway if i get a camaro, which model should i get? Im sorta leaning towards an LT1 Z28.

 

why wont your parents put you on their insurance and you just pay them the amount?

 

I'm 18 and pay only $72 a month fo refull coverage, but my dad is listed as the principle driver of my firebird.

 

seriosuly. They don't have to pay for you just because its their policy.
