Installing Fuel Pressure Gauge

I bought an Accel fuel Pressure gauge to test my system and it came with no instructions. I came with three parts. The gauge, a 90* metal elbow, and a small metallic cap thing? I put the guage and the elbow and put it on the shrader valve but I get no PSI. It doesnt depress the nipple in the schrader valve. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to take the nipple out of the valve? Thanks.

That must be what the small metal tool is for. Thanks.
