I think my engine is BLOWN!! Need New One!
Hey guys I think my engine is blown. I can't tell since the car is back home in PR and i'm in Ohio (Damn my Brother) Anyway i was just looking around for options. I was thinking maybe a rotational assembly or short block, maybe how knows a ls1 (is that possible) Just asking for good places to get a stroker lt1 and maybe some tips it's going to be my stroker so any quick tips help. Its going to be proffesionally done but anyway is it worth getting a whole shortblock with 4 bolt mains or should i stay with 2 bolts (not thinking of passing 500 flyhp. Thanks in advance!

It's a bit $$$ but i'm considering them. I want to go with a 383 and use the AFR heads i have in my current engine and maybe the 306 i have now. Would it be worth it to go to a bigger cam. I really don't want a lot of surge and the car will prob be more for road racing autoX so i kind of need power everywhere but i'm lookinf for 430 rwhp. Once i buy a Short Block what else would i need. I would probably get the cloyes timing chain.

I was also looking at golen featured at gm high perf mag. How would you guys recomend both have around the same price for the comp short block!
Re: I think my engine is BLOWN!! Need New One!
It is hard to say, I know alot of people have golen built engines and are very happy, and the people who have VRE engines are very happy too. BUt the reason I reccommended VRE was because of the customer service. I know they paid for a guy to ship his engine back so they could check it out and thn paid to ship it back to him, even though it ended up having nothing to do with their work. To me that says alot about a shop

cool i just received a pm from him
that is awesome. But now the only question is to buy vre short block for about 3600 i'm guessing shipped or to buy a good rotation assembly for about 1500-2000 and get the work done. I would save a bunch on shipping but i really don't know. It might be more expensive, time consuming and its safer going with vre since they match the whole short. What compression ratio would you guys recomend? i was thinking about a 11:1 or something. I got 58cc chambered heads will a 396 have too high of a compression or just not really practical? I might do a 150 shot later on.
PS. DO you think i can do 430rwhp with 195cc afr heads and cc306 cam and 383 racer short?

Scoggin Dickey. They have some nice 383 assemblies. If their LT1s are half as good as their LS2 motors, you will be MORE than happy!
Re: I think my engine is BLOWN!! Need New One!
too pricy I'm also planning on porting my afr195 a bit more so you guys with 430 is it possible with a cc306 or should i go a something bigger and what would that be? I can't get lots of surge.
