I'm not sure why using the "IGN" connection on the end of the dash fuse block has to look "crappy".... You only need a single wire to the panel, and its totally invisible when the cover is on the panel.

If I had used a black wire, you wouldn't even notice it without the cover.

You don't need to run all the individual wires to the fuse panel. Run a single wire the way I did, and mount a terminal strip under the dash. Connect all the gauge +12V wires to the teminal strip.
I have electric oil temp, tranny temp, fuel pressure, 5" tach, and several connections to the nitrous system relays all coming off that single wire. I did increase the fuse from 15A to 20A.
Don't run the gauge lighting wires to that connection. Tap into the headlight switch (undimmed) or the output of the instrument panel dimmer rheostat (dimmed) for the lights.

If your looking for a hot (power) wire and ground wire, look on the pass. side under the center console. Under the rug are 3 wires: pink, orange, black. Black is ground and one of the other 2 is hot. I have my gauges powered there. GM left those wires there for accessories. Just strip the ends.
