installed ported 52mm TB, now has 2k idle?
I installed a ported throttle body and now it idles at around 2000rpm. i have not messed with the tps at all yet. I assumed it would be set right considering it has no adjustability, but I have yet to get a scanner on it. any ideas?? my car is a manual so it doesnt kill me tooo much, just it is mainly annoying
Adjust the throttle stop screw slowly, until the idle is within factory spec. (800rpm on the M6, 550rpm in gear with the A4). Then check the IAC counts to insure they are in the range of 20-40 counts. If not, tweek the throttle stop screw until it is. Finally, check the TPS voltage to insure it is between 0.20-0.90V (many people prefer 0.65V). You may need to slot the TPS sensor to get the voltage you want;.
just an update, I did not have a chance to adjust anything and a few days ago the engine settled down to idle at a decent 1000rpm. i didnt question it. lol since than the car seems to idle down around 1000rpm consistently and runs well. thanks everyone for the advice
