Installed new IAC...still has a bad stumble...
Installed new IAC...still has a bad stumble...
So I put in the brand new IAC, and read on shoeboxes page that you start the car giving it some gas, then turn it off after 5 seconds. I then turned it back on and it is still running the same, so I guess new IAC didn't fix the problem. My scanmaster still shows the IAC running all the way down to 03 at idle after its warm(shouldn't go below 20 I think).
Is there a chance the IAC isnt adjusted right? Or do they pretty much adjust on their own? I drove the car for like 5 min...

Re: Installed new IAC...still has a bad stumble...
The IAC should adjust itself after some driving and idling. If the counts are going that low, it sounds like you have a vacuum leak of some kind.
Re: Installed new IAC...still has a bad stumble...
I'm having the exact same problem right now. It gets right down to 00-03 w/ the AC off. It's an A4, so i'm wondering if the ~20 counts at Idle applies only to M6's that idle at around 800. Maybe the A4's have a lower count because the comp will idle us as low as 550?
I spent a good while with propane around everywhere I could think of looking for a vac leak, w/ no luck

Manual or auto should make no difference. Another possibility is that the throttle blades are cracked too far open (normally not an issue with a stock TB).
