Installed Longtubes, Now I'm Slower

Significantly slower. I could tell on the first test drive that something wasn't happy. The engine shakes pretty bad at idle and has a very apparent hesitation. Now I have to try and sort things out. I did install new plugs and wires while doing the headers but I rechecked all the connections and they seemed good and tight. I also blocked off my egr gas feed but the egr itself is still on there and was wondering if the egr could be a culprit in this. How do you start to test for this sort of thing?

You've probably got a plug wire burning.

Did you make sure you got all the wires on correctly at the opti? If you have a couple crossed it could run like garbage.

Would it really run at all? I had the car at the track last night and it was still able to muster 14.4's but it was just way down on power.

What did you use for O2 harness extensions?

Have you logged it to see if you've got a knock retard problem?

I used the 18 guage wire they provided and spliced into them and made them longer.

I don't have a logger to check this with.

The way you did the o2 extensions might have something to do with it.

Have you verified that you don't have any exhaust leaks?

That's your problem...you have to wire in resistors with the O2 wire...just go to summit or thunder and buy extensions....much easier!

I crawled under and listened and kind of felt for any air and all seemed to be well but I have not done anything extensive.

It would run depending on how many wires were crossed. I crossed 2 wires after redoing my header bolts and it ran. Ran like complete garbage, but it ran.

I have O2 extensions and definitely recommend them.

checked the wires and they are all in good order.

Is it worth a shot for me to order the o2 extensions then? I mean that for sure could be the problem correct?

For sure check the plugs and wires... a wire might be loose on the plug, a wire burnt, wrong order from opti to plugs, etc.... i would really check one of these first
