installed hot cam, slower ets!

I haven't had programming yet, or a stall, but I still figured i would get at least something from the hot cam. My car ran consistent 9.3s before warmed up. Tonight, I had to leave my car set for a couple of hours to get a 9.3. It is averaging a 9.5 now. Any feedback is appreciated.

60 foot times tonight were in the 2.0-2.2 range. I think it was about the same before.

You need a tune. Get a tune and you'll be just fine.

And a converter. The cam bumped up your powerband, weak gears and stock stall= suck

Yeah, cam plus 2.73's and no stall = major suckage. Get a stall or some gears. Wait, do you even have headers? If not, I think that could be a MAJOR problem also.

The 2.73s are the least of my concerns. It ran 9.3s all day long stock with those gears, where most of the 3.23 cars I know were running 9.4s. I'm getting the stall this weekend and the progamming very soon.

I think headers would help you a ton! That thing is just begging to breath! Also, when I did my hotcam kit swap the car didn't feel much faster. My best at the track before it was a 13.78. After the hotcam with the mods in the sig. I was able to muster out a 13.55...was kinda disapointed. I then got a pcmforless.com tune and a 160 stat and went to the track. It was perfect day for racing as far as weather goes and it was a lucky run but I got a 13.16@107. After the tunning the car was a night and day difference. A ton better throttle response, better gas mileage, and a LOT more power! Tunning should be #1 on your list right now.

yeah dude but the cam changes your whole powerband up. gives you less lowend power and more midrange and top end. i lost a little of my lowend but gained hella topend power. that cam really isnt an 1/8 mile cam. get some gears and a stall and it will feel totaly different.

With the Hotcam Kit you should install a LT4 Knock Module, otherwise those Self Aligning Rockers can produce a false knock and cause an ignition retard which will rob all of that expected power gains and then some.

Why did you go with the hotcam before headers/stall/gears ?
With stock 3.42's, Longtube headers, cut-out and ET streets I ran 13.0X at 107mph all night long... in July. Even hot-lapping 3 passes inside of 10 minutes. Stock cam, stock programming, stock throttle body, heck I didn't even have a cold air intake, just a K&N stock filter replacement. The LT-1 is not as bad as people think and 12's are very doable with bolt on only.

I lost a lifter, so I just went ahead with the whole hot cam kit, otherwise, I would still be stock. Instead, I now have to do further modifications.

Also, I know people in town with 3.73s, and only gaines .1-.2 out of it. So the gear swap is one of the later things on my list right now. After tuning and stall, then gears.

Also, how restrictive are the stock manifolds? After the manifolds, the exhaust on my car is VERY unrestrictive.
