Ok so I've had my headers in the car for a while now. I've only started the car up a couple of times. I installed some Moroso 8mm's on the car so I'm unsure of this....

I've had problems in the past with off timing becasue of crappy wires (Taylor) and am wondering if maybe the moroso's are causing an off timming again. I'm not sure if the sound I'm hearing is just in my head becasue of the first crappy experience or if the timming is really off. It's hard to diagnose it with the Headers on becasue thier not connected to anything so everything is extremely loud now. I think the timming is off becasue the car starts popping when I rev the car up with the open headers. She'll sound real mean then as I let off the pedal I hear Popping and Farting. My check engine light doesn't come on on or anything. It should though because my O2's aren't installed so I can't really count on that. ..Plus there's this annoying Ticking It's super loud. I know I'm missing a header bolt but what in the H3LL is that ticking. Damnit! Is my car suppossed to be farting like that when I rev up with out the cat or muffler?

 

that popping should be normal, and the ticking could be exhaust leak, if so you should tighten down that bolt so you dont blow your exhaust gasket.

 

Missing bolt + ticking is a dead giveaway for a header leak. That popping you hear is normal. Its hot uncombusted gas mixture combining with the cool air outside of the header.

 

Amost forgot my idle jumped up like 200rpms. What the Billy Bean Bob! Do headers jack your idle up. from 800-1000?
