Re: injectors

the link didn't work, the le1 kit is soposed to make 370 to 390 rwhp. I'm just tring to see if i could afford the le1 kit. its 1100 for cam and heads but all the other stuff i got to buy adds up.

260- cc pro mags
25- hardened push rods
207- for r lifters
279 for the lt4 extreme duty timing set
116 for gaskets
~200 for shipping
~250 for another pair of heads so my car doesn't have to be down for 3 weeks
259 for injectors
60 for a tune (?)

=1656 +1100 =2756 ouch

Re: injectors

Here is his fixed link.

30# SVO injectors is what I would recommend.

You can get them used for $100-150 on the board, or buy them new from summit for like $220.

Re: injectors

according to racetronix website (i think that is where it's from) the formula for figuring out injector size is :

(flywheel HP) x .5
---------------------------------------------------
(number of cylinders) x (duty cycle (standard is 80%))

in this case it would be

450 x .5
--------- = 35 lb/hr injectors
8 x .8

Re: injectors

30 lbers would work fine. I ran stockers up to 355 rwhp, but it was maxing them out.

Re: injectors

if you run 30 lb/hr they will be running at 94% duty cycle. Max is considered 80%. I'm sure it will provide plenty of fuel, you will just be working them harder.

Re: injectors

80% DC is max for pulse width stability / repeatability
It's always best to have a bit more than you need than not enough!
You can always trim them back with tuning but you can not make them bigger.

It sounds like you read a couple websites and then rattled it off like you know what you're talking about and it's the only way to do things...look at the charts I created, there's a few different ways to get 35 lb/hr. Also depending on the BSFC you could need anywhere from 28-35 lb/hr.

In that formula, you mention ".5", do you know what that .5 stands for? Is it feasible to say that it very well may be .4 or .45?

What is the first thing I said when i first posted to this thread? If you can't remember here it is.

I never claimed I knew what I was talking about. But no need for you to be an *** about it. I was just trying to help out by telling him what the professionals have said.

Exactly why you should only give advice about things you have experience with.

I don't guess I was too far off. My "rattled off answer" is pretty damn close to what the experts are saying. Don't get me wrong, I agree with what you said too, but there is no need to hammer somebody just because you think you have more experience than somebody else.

Re: injectors

Didn't mean to hammer you, sorry if it came off that way. I just strongly dislike misinformation being spread and seeing people give advice on spending other peoples money about stuff they *think* will work without having any real knowledge or experience about it.

Just my $.02.
