Injector questions

I have a fuel problem I think I can get the car to run off starting fluid but not on it's own.

So I took a ohm meter to them and they showed 11.6-11.8 IIRC I read on shbox's site they should be between 12-14 ohms.

So I pulled off the fuel rail off and put some bottles under the injectors to catch the gas but the only one that was somewhat sputtering out gas was #1 I am thinking all of them should be spitting out gas?

They are stock injectors and has a new FPR on it.Thanks for any help

Re: Injector questions

Yes fuel should spray out of every injector when you crank the car over long enough; they will not spray at the same time one will spray then another and so on, crank it over for a few seconds and watch the spray patterns of the injectors.

Re: Injector questions

I did that and finally got 4 spraying (not much) but could never get the other 4.
Cranked it over 5 or 6 times 10-15 sec.

Re: Injector questions

Check the pressure. What if the hose slipped off at the fuel pump, inside the tank? When was the filter last changed? The resistance readings from the injectors is not a problem. What did you do that caused the additional 3 injectors to start firing?

Did you check the injector fuses? Have you checked for codes? Have you verified 12V at the pink wire in each injector harness connector? Have you use a 'noid light to verify the PCM is providing a ground to fire the injectors?

Re: Injector questions

The filter was changed about 6 months ago,for the other 3 firing I just cranked and cranked it over they finally started the shoot a little out.

The Inj fuses are good, haven't checked for codes though.

All the pink wires on the injectors have 12v, dont have a noid light yet put getting one tomorrow.

Re: Injector questions

Did the engine sit for an extended period of time without being started?

Re: Injector questions

Finally got a brake in weather and checked the FP it was at 43 also took the noid light to them and all flashed.

I have ordered a cable to run a scan on it but I'm thinking it's the injectors?

Re: Injector questions

Have you though of just clogged injectors... try leaving them overnight on some solvent like Seafoam... might help then try it again
