Misfire??

Hello, And first off i want to say thanks for anyone who helps me with this problem I'm experiencing.

I have a 97 z28. I recently took the heads off and the intake off to reseal everything and replace anything that was worn or broken. I ended up putting the old opti back on and a new water pump (which ended up being a defective pump) when i started the car up it ran real bad and then died. and of course the water pump was leaking on EVERYTHING. I ended up taking all the front pieces back off and replacing with a new opti another new water pump and while i was at it i changed the coil and the icm.
Now the car cranks..., but its off. its not running smooth and it feels like its missing.
When i hook a code reader up to it it says random misfire.
Could this possibly be because i tightened up the valves to tight when i put the heads back on??
I heard that if u over tighten that it would make it run bad if it would run at all.
Any suggestions would be soooo appreciated.

I feel at my whits end

"over tighten" what?

Are you sure you have the plug wires on the Opti in the correct order?

Talking Re: Misfire??

FIX'D IT!!!!!! It was the valves being over tightened. I started over and set the vales at zero lash with a half extra turn on each one. It purrs like a kitten now!
I went on shoebox and read about setting the valve lash and that is where i read that if they were overtightened the car would run like crap if it would run at all.
