Injector Problems

I think several of my injectors are leaking, and causing my car to be hard to start (flooding).

My question, Will LS1 injectors fit and work in my LT1?

If so, what is the flow rating for the LS1 injectors, is it different, so that I will have to change it in the PCM, or would they be just plug and play?

Re: Injector Problems

Yes and the LS1 injectors flow 24#S AT 43psi the same as the stockers, you will have to extend the retaining ring groove al the way around for the clips to fit corectly. SLP sells LT1 injectors for $99 and no modification needed

Re: Injector Problems

You don't have to "think" the injectors are leaking. Pull the fuel rails up with the injectors intact, pressurize the fuel system (do not try and start the engine ) and look for drips.

Re: Injector Problems

so, just remove the 4 bolts holding the fuel rails to the intake, and lift up on the fuel rails, and the injectors will pop out of the intake?

Then, just turn the key on to cycle the pump to build pressure.

Extend the retaining ring? i have not had these off before, so i am assuming there is some sort of e-clip, or snap ring holding the injectors in the fuel rail?

thanks

will

Re: Injector Problems

do what Injuneer said and when you have it up and out you will see exactly what theyre talking about when it comes to the clips that hold the injectors into the rail, its really simple, just take your time pulling the injectors up and out of the manifold wiggling them out. Forewarning, best to blow compressed air around your manifold area first though to get rid of dust/dirt/debris that may have collected there so it doesnt fall into the injector holes.

Re: Injector Problems

thanks, I will try that this weekend. It's tough having a "hot rod" as a daily driver.
