Injector Duty Cycle hitting 104%?

I didn't think it was possible to go over 100%, lol. I think its time to install those 30#ers I have sitting here.

Has anyone else seen them hit 104%?

What you are seeing is what the PCM is calculating as a pulse width (divided by the time it takes for two revs at that particular RPM).... not what the injector is actually achieving. And no, an injector can not be open more than 100% of the time.

How are you getting the duty cycle? DataMaster? If so, the duty cycle numbers that come out of DataMaster often make no sense at all..... I've seen nearly stock engines approach 100%, and that is impossible. I've told DataMaster users to go back to TTS and ask them to explain why they are getting those results, but so far, no one has done that.

What kind of flywheel HP are you making? Whoo did your tune?

With flywheel HP and an approximate brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) you can generally estimate the need for larger injectors.

stock would approach 100% not impossible, did you see the PE table for a stock car? its insane, 9.8 for PE, my car with all mods is in the negative numbers, so yeah its dumping fuel in a stock car even though it don't need it, even though the MAF isn't reading much.

You're gonna love it when I tell you that I have not had the PCM tuned. I have been waiting for Jet-hot to deliver my Headers for approimately 3 months The plan has always been to have it tuned once those were on utilizing the 30#ers that I have sitting here. I am using Datamaster for these readings, so that may be the issue. This question is more/less for knowledge. I have a few more questions regarding tuning, but I will put those in the tuning section. I'm not really sure on the HP/tq, but I would guess with the new headers and other mods, I am pushing around 350hp with no tuning and maybe 360-375hp or so with a good tune. These may be a little off, but I think my car is capable of it.

Did you all look at the mods page on my website. The picture page is quite dated, but the mods page has all the current mods, minus the 30# inj. and I have added the headers.

BTW: This is the log file, the last little spike is where the 104.2% hits. Please let me know what else you see wrong with it. I am getting serious knock as well, I don't know why. Think I got shafted off of ebay for a stock LT1 KM. I'm gonna have to check into that

I would not doubt that with the injectors maxed out and 104 DC which would suggest you are at least 4% too lean at WOT, that the knock is due to not enough fuel.

Personally I would not go hot rodding the car too much until you get the bigger injectors in and the car tuned correctly.
