Injector ?????
Injector ?????
I am running a 383 with AFR Lt4 heads and intake. I am putting a powerdyne supercharger on it running 9lbs of boost and was wondering what size injectors i should go with. I have 36lb svo injectors in it now and was wondering if they are to small?
How does your control system add the extra fuel for the blower? Does it have an FMU, or has the PCM been tuned based on a 2-bar MAP sensor? That will determine how you size your injectors.
The FMU raises the fuel pressure based on boost. The FMU's ratio of fuel pressure psi increase:boost psi will determine the maximum fuel pressure, which determines the effective flow rate of the injectors. You need to know the HP rating of the engine at 9# boost, and the fuel pressure to size the injectors. I'm thinking even 42 #/HR (rated at 2.7bar) might not be large enough. Might be looking at something closer to 50 #/HR, depending on the ultimate HP.
Probably a good idea to post this on the Forced Induction fourm for guidance.
