i just recently bought a 93 z28 6spd camaro and was looking for a hypertech programmer on ebay. then i noticed that people only have hypertech's listed for the 94 models and above. is any interchangable with my camaro or am i just out of luck.

i am not completely sure but the way i understand it the hypertech only works with OBD2 cars, yours being a 93 will have OBD1, as does my 94. a friend of mine had a 93 camaro and he got a chip from JET.

 

OBD-I isn't the determining factor.

The 94 and up LT1's have non-removable chips, so the only way they can be programmed (in theory) is with the Hypertech or similar. They do have an HPP for the 94. I've been using mine for more than 8 years.... but only for gear changes, etc.

The 93 has a removable chip, and you need to have a new chip flashed to "program" it.
