I'm about to kill my car!
Wait, it's already dying on its own! It's had a weird sputtering lately. It kept getting worse and worse until it was almost undriveable. Ran a bottle of fuel system cleaner, and it almost cleared up the problem.... for a few days. It was only misfiring at around 3000 rpms, and then again at about 5500+ rpms. But it sent me on the path toward a fuel system problem.
Fuel pressure is constant, even when missing.
Changed the filter today and after testing it out, the throttle stopped responding and the car died. Would crank, but not start for a few minutes, then finally did. Still running like crap. Any ideas?
Just in case this helps, I'm throwing EGR flow malfunction codes, and O2 sensor codes (most likely because of lack of cat).
So EGR possibly? Fuel pump? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Changed EGR, no help
Cleaned filter, MAF, and TB and repaired hole in CAI, car ran better, but didn't fix problem.
Coil wire was SHOT, spark plugs were gapped at almost .060.
Replaced coil wire, regapped #1,3, and 5 plugs to .045. This helped the car very much. Runs much harder and hesitates much less. I'm thinking I should regap the rest of the plugs. Do you think this will clear it up? Any other suggestions? Thanks guys.

Changed EGR 2 days ago. Opti has less than 30K miles on it. First opti on this car lasted 90,000 miles before I mistakenly took it off and found out it was still working fine, I had a burned plug wire. I'm not going through changing the opti again until I know, and I doubt it failed so quickly.

"those symptoms also sound like a dying optispark. have that checked out to."
Thats EXACTLY what my car did when my Opti was dying. I replaced my plugs, plug wires, & coil and it still did it. Its probably not your fuel if your fuel pressure is up to par. It is most likely your Opti. Have that checked.

If you've read it before I'm sorry for sounding like a broken record BUT, If you haven't done so, get your injectors cleaned professionally through the fuel rail. I do mine and several others with the 3M hose and cleaner number 08912.
It's something that should be done every 2 years or so anyway and it will cost about $30 to $40 dollars at a garage that does it.
The car runs off the can of cleaner for about 10 minutes and when the can is empty the car shuts down and the job is done. You connect it to the schrader valve.
cheapest thing I could think to try that would give you the same symptoms. May be worth trying. BTW, after you get them cleaned, run a good cleaner in the fuel at every oil change. Be sure what every you use is O2 safe.
good luck

Does anybody have any experience with a "random multiple cylinder misfire" code on OBD2 computers? That's what I'm getting. Last time I got that, it was two burned wires, but I'm not seeing any arcing off the headers at night.
I think I will regap the rest of the plugs or maybe just get new plugs and wires.
