Ignition won't turn over????

I came out this morning to take my car (95 TA) to work! I put the key in the ignition but the key would not physically turn over!! I tried the spare key...same thing. I can turn it back enough to get the power accessories to work and turn it forward enough to get the wheel to unlock, but CANNOT turn it further! Can anyone help me? It was not a gradual thing...it work great the last time I drove it!
Thanks!

When that happened to me, it was the ignition switch on its way out...it died about 20 minutes later, I'd say start there, or the ignition lock cylinder

Turn your wheel one way or the other against the lock and try the key.

It happened in my daily driver. Couldn't turn the key.

Good point, I assumed that was already attempted. Try that first.

I tried tapping on the cylinder, moving the wheel side to side, moving the column up and down, turn backward and then forward..and nothing! Does is break this sudden? There was no warning!
