Ignition problem?
Ignition problem?
I'm not really sure where to start with this. It's not a totally big deal right now but its annoying. My car starts fine from a cold start. It also starts right up when the car has been off for like 5 minutes. But if it sits for like an hour or so it has to crank for a few seconds. I replaced the plugs and wires already and it still does it. So I was looking into a MSD Ignition and blaster coil. Do you think that would solve anything?
Re: Ignition problem?
Sounds like your injector(s) are dripping. If the check ball in the fuel pump where the problem, the longer it sits, the worse the problem. But you said it starts fine from dead cold and shortly after sitting.
If the injectors where dripping, it would only drip for a while and stop. The fuel would also evaporate after longer periods. It's easy enough to test. Pull the fuel rails and either turn KOEO which is a pain by yourself. Or just put a 12 volt jumper to the fuel pump prime connector. With the injectors up, see if any are leaking with the pump primed.
Oh yeah, check the oil for fuel smell. Just in case.
