ignition problem?

Today I went through i rather large puddle. The water was probably about a foot deep and after I went trough everything was fine. About 30 mins later i start to get really bad static coming hrough my right speaker that increases as engine rpm increases. When I'm completely stopped there isn't much if anything but as soon as I give it gas it messes up. is this feedbalk from the ignition or something else?

Re: ignition problem?

Do you know about the Optispark? They can be depended on to fail sooner or later, and many who are familiar with the design grit their teeth when they drive through a large puddle. Although, I'm not sure the distributor has any part in the circuit the speakers are on.

Re: ignition problem?

I thought it might be the opti. it's not the circuit that the speakers are on cause it only increases with engine rpm, i figured it was because of the spark giving radio disturbance or something.

Look under the hood when it's dark out and see if there are any sparks. Look up from underneath the front also so you can see the wires going to the opti.
