Ignition fuse keeps blowing!
it just randomly decided to blow today while my wife was driving. I bypassed the MSD, all the nitrous stuff, everything I could think of... even checked for wires against the headers, etc.
Can't find anything. The fuse blows right when you turn the key to on....

Just incase you didn't get this problem solved yet. I noticed it had been some days since you posted this. The ignition fuse number 5 that is 15 amps supplies the fuel pump relay, the theft deterrent module the MAF and the PCM.
This is going to be hard to monitor because you can't keep putting in fuses after every attempt.
Here's my suggestion. Since a DVM will only go to 10 amps, putting the meter in the fuse connection instead of the fuse probably won't work. You could use a resettable breaker so you don't keep blowing a fuse but they are hard to find. So disconnect the 4 things that I listed above. Put a fuse in the fuse holder and turn the key on and then off. If the fuse is blown, you have a power wire touching ground. May take days to find but focus on where wires pass through metal first.
IF the fuse is still intact, connect one of the above 4 items and cycle power again. If the fuse is blown, that item you just plugged in is the problem. If the fuse is not blown, plug one more of the 4 items in and cycle power. Do this until you have plugged the last item in or have found the item causing the problem.
The only reason this method would not work is if you have an intermittant shorting problem. In that case wiggle wires around until you have some indication you found the area in the wire.
let us know how you made out.

well, I have it narrowed down to the transmission. Witht he pan off, it doesn't blow, when I put the pan back on it blows. I can't find ANY bare wires, and there is no continuity to ground that I can find. I may just replace the harness in the trans since I can't find a problem

Found it. I pulled the wiring harness completely out of the trans. The red wire going to the lock up solenoids somehow came out of the plastic loom piece and rubbed a hole in the sheathing against the valve body. 5 minutes of tinkering and it's all better and being reassembled tomorrow

Definitley a tough one to find.

yeah thanks guys for pointing me the right direction. After much blue trans fluid absorbed into the skin and hair, a new trans pan gasket and filter (since you can't buy JUST the gasket at AZ) a little soldering and shrink wrap and she's all better.
But somehow I toasted the o2 sensors in the progress. Must have been my flagrant use of brake cleaner to keep everything dust free when going back together. I think maybe the extensions leaked some through the connectors... oh well
