help with ignition switch problem

I have a problem that I believe is located in the ignition switch. When you turn the car on the radio doesnt go on as it normally does. The power windows do not work, the wipers do not work, etc. But other than that the car runs and starts fine.

If you turn the key back to the accessory position and wiggle it a little you can get the radio and power windows to work. I have found you can even start the car and they will work for a while until you open the door or they shut off (like all camaros.)

This leads me to believe the ignition switch is messed up, does this sound right? How hard are they is install? Should i just take it to a shop or can someone coach me on fixing this?

Phil

It could be that the switch is loose and/or out of adjustment or it is just worn. You can find info on replacing the switch here. It is not uncommon for the switch to need replacing.
