Exclamation idling at 3000rpm

I put a new cam in my lt1 engine and when i start it up it idles at 3000rpm.
comp cam LT1 268XFI HR13.
Anyone have any ideas on things to check? Do I need a PCM reprogram?

Re: idling at 3000rpm

Sounds like a vaccum leak. Make sure everything is tight on the intake side.

i also had the heads ported and polished and the intake also. I have also installed gm's high performance lt1 timing chain kit.

Re: idling at 3000rpm

The engine needs a lot of air to idle at 3,000RPM. The only source of idle air (assuming the TB blades are fully closed) is supposed to be through the IAC passages in the throttle body. Its getting the air from somewhere else.... you need to find out how the air is getting in there.

Nope, you seem to have a vaccum leak.
