iac valve question
iac valve question
I had it out and was cleaning it and got a little impatient and pulled the plunger out a bit to clean more and it would not go back in. I have it all hooked up in my car now and was wondering if anyone thinks I should just buy a new iac valve. Should the plunger stick at all? Maybe it is the source of my funny idle and my opti was making it even worse.... Idk
I am going to fill it with coolant today and crank her over after:
EWP
Timing chain
Fluidampr install
It was good I had it apart and cleaned the throttle body after its first couple months of operation, new timing cover seals and gasket surfaces are all nice and clean now. Everything except the powersteering pump, a/c compressor and idle pully have been replaced. No emissions on my car excpet a cat and all the tubes and lines have been plugged and removed

Minor/gentle adjustments by pushing in the pintle of a new valve are sometimes required, if it projects more than 1.102". Moving the pintle on a used valve is not needed and not recommended. You also should not allow solvent past the pintle, or you can damage the motor coils. You really ought to get a basic manual like a Chiltons, so you have a reference on what to do and what not to do.
