what would a bad IAC do to ur car?
is it still affective when driving or just at idle?

My dirty one only affected my idle, or the speed in which the RPM reached idle after I stopped.

The IAC primarily controls idle speed, but it also opens up to provide some additional air flow to prevent stalling on sudden throttle closure when the car is moving.
