I wish someone would have told me...

that my lt1 check engine light had a mind of its own and likes to play games with me!

After remedying the maf codes, random misfire codes, car runs sweet for 20 minutes and then throws another code..this time its a p0151 o2sensor circuit low volts, bank 2 sensor 1 ..... what on earth do I have to do and who do I have to pay one final time to rid myself of these check engine codes!??!! I have had her in about 5 different shops, spent almost 5000.00 in tune ups...over the years only to have the car's check engine lights stay on.

I would even take it back to the shop and just got tired of the return of the code one day after I leave the shop. Its really beginning to become more trouble then its worth, I have spent sick amounts of money and my car refuses to run at its optimal level for longer than a day.

Too bad I did not find this forum until recently, maybe I could have found someone who knows there LT1 Sh*t and would have her purring for me by now! Its been 4 years already! I am not giving up just venting, hopefully someone can advise! Thanks!

It's the o2's. If your o2's are bad it will throw alot of things off and then it will throw multiple codes. I had the same prob, MAF and o2 codes at the same time and it was just the o2's.

So stay away from the edelbrock heads then? I see the good reccomendations about the Le2 package maybe I will shift my attention in that direction for heads and cam!

Re: I wish someone would have told me...

The code sets when the O2 sensor voltage falls beow 200mV and stays there. Could be a faulty sensor, or something like an exhaust leak pouring air into the exhaust. Swap the pre-cat O2 sensors side to side. If the problem follows the sensor (P0151 changes to P0131) its definitely a sensor problem. If the code stays on the passenger side, its not the sensor, its something external causing the sensor to read low.
